Thursday, September 8, a bus with 68 persons from the parish community of Bains-sur-Oust, left on pilgrimage to Pontmain (Mayenne) to celebrate the birth of the Virgin Mary.
At the beginning of the trip, Sr. Émilienne entrusted our day to the Virgin Mary.
“Today, we celebrate the Virgin Mary by going to visit her in Pontmain! She is waiting for us. We entrust to her all our prayer intentions, plans, joys and difficulties: ours and those that have been confided to us; do not forget our world, our country and their leaders, the Church and our parish communities! Implore her, “Queen of Peace”.
On January 17, 1871, (the Prussians arrived at the gates of Laval) for 3 hours, Eugène and Joseph Barbedette, Françoise Richer and Jeanne-Marie Lebossé contemplated a “Beautiful Lady” dressed in a blue robe sprinkled with stars, with a black veil under a gold crown encircled with a red line and wearing blue slippers with gold bows on her feet. And this was her message: “But pray, my children. God will hear you in time. My Son allows Himself to be touched!”
We visited the parish church and were guided by a young African priest – Oblate of Mary Immaculate – with a slide show about the apparitions to the children, and a sound and light show in the Barbedette barn.
We finished our day with a guided visit to the Basilica.
A very full day. Thank you, Virgin Mary, for connecting with us in the day to day of our lives, giving us Your Son to contemplate, and encouraging us to pray with trust and without ceasing!
