On 26th September 2019 the District of Great Britain celebrated the Diamond Jubilee of Sr Janet Norman and Sr Claudette Amyotte. This was a celebration with a difference since we gathered in the Orchard Nursing Home, where Sr Janet is a resident. The Nursing home very kindly allowed us to use one of their small sitting rooms for the day. Our great friend Fr Lijo celebrated a beautiful mass of thanksgiving for us.
We were able to take Sr Janet out in her wheelchair to a lovely restaurant and we all enjoyed a festive lunch. But most of all we enjoyed being together and being able to talk and share.
After lunch it was back to the Nursing Home to enjoy a beautiful Jubilee Cake baked by the catering team of the Nursing Home.
Janet and Claudette also had a surprise visit from Sr Anne Chapell, courtesy of a WhatsApp video call.
We all agreed that it was a wonderful day. Thank you Janet and Claudette for your fidelity and commitment in the Congregation. You have touched so many people throughout the past 60 years. And you have both been a blessing to the District of Great Britain. You both mean so much to us. May the Lord continue to bless you as you continue on your journey.
