“Aquatria” is a residence for independent and semi-independent seniors; this 80 room home is peaceful and out in nature. Everything is organized to promote the life and wellbeing of the elderly residents: help with personal or medical care, a variety of balanced meals, meeting rooms, activities and outings for all tastes, etc. Since the end of January 2019, 32 Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus live in this residence situated in Casselman in rural Eastern Ontario. They are happily settled in, form a community; all is wonderful except…there is no chapel, only a room for worship. For several months, the sisters have made different attempts at correcting the situation: their commitment and patience have paid off. With the permission of the management of the residence and the authorization of the diocese, a chapel for all the residents was officially inaugurated and blessed on November 28, 2019.
And since then, not only have those living in the residence benefitted from the chapel but so has the parish community.
