Vocation
“The Spirit of the Lord has been given to me, for he has anointed me. He has sent me to bring the good news to the poor …” (Lk 4,18)
“Angélique Le Sourd was often able, during her charitable errands through the villages, to note the moral devastation which had accumulated during the Revolution. While reflecting on how to remedy this evil … and praying God to show her how she could do her share, she gradually conceived the plan which would give birth to the little Community of Saint-Jacut.” (Manuscript Guyot, p. 17)
“In response to a particular call, we leave all to follow Jesus Christ in the ever-present mystery of His Death and Resurrection.” (Constitutions n° 1)
“We live our vocation as part of a pilgrim people collaborating with the local Church and with all who work for a more just and humane world. (…)”
(Constitutions n° 8)
Consecration
“Consecrate them in the truth, your word is truth. (…) And for their sake I consecrate myself so that they too may be consecrated in truth.” (Jn 17, 17-19)
“From the time of her youth, this saintly girl (Angélique Le Sourd) had the desire to consecrate herself to God in religious life.(…)” (Guyot, pp. 22-23)
“Jesus was consecrated and sent by His Father. Our vocation originates in His response to this call. (…) In response to this call we offer our whole life to God for the service of the Kingdom.” (Constitutions n° 10)
“Our religious consecration is a gratuitous gift from the Lord and a commitment in love to Him and to others. (…). Our consecration is a mission of compassion and a participation in the vocation of the Church in the world.” (Constitutions n° 11)
