On Friday, March 11, Churches from different denominations came together in the Protestant Evangelical Church for an evening of prayer.
The prayer was offered for all the people in the world who suffer from war, which of course includes our brothers and sisters in Ukraine who are directly affected. Different Churches: Protestant, Orthodox, and Catholic. Father Gérard Poirier, delegated by our Bishop, Monseigneur Thierry Scherrer, led the prayer. The welcome was both simple and fraternal. The prayer was deeply profound. It focused on different Bible passages, a few commentaries, songs, spontaneous prayers as well as prayers of supplication and intercession.
Children of the same Father, we can say with one heart, the Our Father…and sing the closing hymn: To you all glory, Oh Resurrected One! To you eternal victory.
The hymn allowed us to leave with renewed confidence.
From everywhere, Lord, prayers rise to You. Deafen not your ears to our cries.
